Overview of Courses & Seminars
Introduction to Basic Pistol Course - 4 Hours This Introduction to Basic Pistol Class is a basic introduction to handguns and handgun safety and is conducted entirely in the classroom and Laser Simulator. This class is perfect for anyone who has never handled a handgun or has very little experience and would like an easy to understand safety class with some hands-on to learn your basic fundamentals in a safe, comfortable, non-intimidating environment. This class will provide beginner knowledge and skill development in the area's of safety, basic shooting fundamentals and build confidence in the student to prepare them for the next level of training such as the Multi-State Concealed Firearms Class.
Enhanced Basic Pistol Course - 12 Hours This Enhanced Basic Pistol Class is a step above most basic pistol classes and contains similar curriculum as the NRA Basic Pistol Class however includes an additional Laser Simulator session in between the classroom and Live Range sessions. The purpose is to provide additional attention to detail in the area's of safety, basic fundamentals and shooting skills development and to increase all safety factors and build confidence in the student. Laser Firearms Training Simulator Practice & Classes We now have several new Laser Firearms Training Simulators! Several of our custom training courses now incorporate simulator training into the curriculum prior to live fire shooting. Currently law enforcement and the U.S. Military uses Laser Shot simulators in much of its training. The use of a simulator provides a safe and inexpensive learning environment for our students to learn new skills and master existing ones in between range sessions and is conducted indoors so one can train comfortably even when the weather outside is wet & cold. Enhanced Personal Protection in the Home Course The CCW Academy Enhanced Personal Protection in the Home course is designed to bring students through the basics of home and family protection. This course is similar to the NRA Personal Protection In The Home Course however is enhanced by additional training in our Laser Simulator In this age of increased violence, and in particular, increases of home invasions, this training is an important step in the development of knowledge and skills necessary for basic home and family protection. The Art of Concealment - Specialty Clothing & Accessories - 2 Hours This course is a short seminar designed to take a more in depth look at specialty clothing, holsters and proper wear for maximum concealment of firearms. Resources will be provided to students of vendors for specialty products. Proof of a valid concealed firearms permit is required for entry into this class. Click Here for more information.
Advanced Pistol Handling I - 3 Hours The Advanced Pistol Handling I course is designed to take a student beyond basic pistol shooting and primarily concentrates on muscle memory techniques in the classroom environment concentrating on muscle memory techniques and incorporating our Laser Simulator for progressive draw-shoot drills. CCW Shooting Drills Level I, Level II and Level III These programs are designed to take shooters to the next levels of skills development using realistic, timed, dry and live fire evolutions. Women's Safety Classes - "SPACE" - 2 Hours This will be a free seminar available to women in the community as a public service. Rick is willing to provide this seminar at your location or you may attend any sponsored event such as at Cabela's in Reno where we will be holding many of these classes. "SPACE" stands for Safety, Prevention, Awareness, Communications and Escape. This is a WOMEN ONLY seminar and men are not allowed to be present. The focus of this seminar is to bring more awareness to women and assist in the development of new habits that could first of all minimize exposure and vulnerability on a daily basis and some tips on how to evade or escape a dangerous situation.
